Props for Little Big Heads

I thought I'd draw up a list of different 1/6 scale props that work for Blythes. As far as I know, Takara doesn't much provide props or furniture for their dolls, but other companies do have plenty of items that can be used in photos, displays and dioramas for our beloved Little Big Heads.

Mattel has of course provided tons of props in 1/6 scale over the years. Most prominently obviously for their Barbie line, but the problem with Barbie stuff is that everything is so darn pink! Some of my favourite props to use with my Blythes come from their My Scene dolls. My Scene line is no longer produced, but in the early releases from 2002 onwards for a couple of years, there were tons of fantastic little plastic props in way more authentic colours. My Scene dolls also had groovy bags, vehicles and even some fun furniture that easily lend themselves for Blythe use.

The newer Mattel doll lines, Monster High and Ever After High, might provide a little prop here and there, but the selection and quality is pretty poor. In my estimation they don't work that well for Blythes. Some Barbie, Flavas and My Scene clothes fit Blythes, but not all. MH and EAH clothes are way too small.

There's Mona with a My Scene bag and a crafts store mini bunny. My favourite 1/6 doll bags come from My Scene, Bratz, Fashion Royalty, Misaki and Dynamite Girls.

For food and drinks: My Scene, Re-ment, Barbie, Bratz stuffs...

MGA and their Bratz dolls bring tons and tons of authentic looking little props: anything and everything from hiking gear to cosmetics!! There is great attention to detail in the early Bratz stuffs! Bratz Boyz clothes also fit well on Blythe girls with the most common types of bodies: Takara, Azone and Licca (boy and girl). Their sweaters and t-shirts, pants and shorts all work!

Integrity Toys produces mostly collectible fashion dolls for adults in a higher price range these days. Their playline dolls are mostly discontinued. But if you want to spend that much on the props, IT dolls do bring often fine quality bags other little things that can be suitable for Blythes. One might pick up some of the bags and such on Ebay separately.

Ethel here has a Bratz boyz outfit and bag, Flavas skateboard and tiny canvas sneakers (available in Blythe/Barbie/Pullip size on Ebay and in many online doll stores).

But loads of fun stuffs) - Re-ment (insane amounts of little knick-knacks) Other potentially useful stuffs: - 1/3 BJD wigs (8-9 or 9-10 size) - dollar store finds: little paintings, LED lamps, little photo frames, tons of miniature items of all kinds - crafts shops: miniature teddy bears and dolls, domestic items, mini garden items, mini fruit and vegetables, paper and silk flowers... and loads more! - mobile phone stands that look like chairs or other furniture - jewellery boxes that look like couches or arm chairs - jewellery holders for hats stands - wooden trinket boxes and mini drawers - purses for luggage - keychain charms (for pets, toys...)

- any kinds of novelty items and decorations There are obviously tons more of all kinds of things one can use for Blythes. If you're into collecting props and furniture for your dolls, you will learn to keep your eyes open for anything. The strangest household items sometimes work for dolls, like fruit bowls or candle sticks! Good luck hunting!!
