Project Chad day 3 and 4

I’m on holiday for a week here, so I’ve been able to continue my Chad project each day a little bit.

Mon 3/2

I went fabric shopping and found some good stuff for my project: several different faux fur fabrics and the same fabric I used for the first two pants, but in grey, white and green. The green will not be so much for Chad, but I’m thinking I’ll make something for my Filraen out of it and some elfy robes and cloaks for my DF-A elf Auriel.

I cut out a lot of new pieces from all the fabrics and did some revising on the designs. I changed my original plan for the fur vest and used a wolfy fur for the collar with the natural white body instead of the bright white one and decided to leave it shorter without the long fur piece at the hem.

Tue 3/3

I sewed the hooks for the natural white/wolf collar vest and I made a fur bag out of the left over piece of that wolf fur. I attached a decorative metal plate on top and braided a strap from a leather strip.

I started sewing the bright white pants, but didn’t have time to finish.

I also adjusted some of my plans and made new sketches. I studied some cowboy batwing type chaps for inspiration and I’m thinking Chad will get a pair from faux suede eventually. I also sketched some tunics and googled some old Viking garments for ideas. Chad will also need a harness for his weapons...
