Chad Project Day 6 & 7
Thu 3/5
Yesterday first thing I fixed the ill-fitting beige felt vest. It's still not blowing my mind, but oh well... it was just a tester vest anyway. Then I attached some decorative metal plates onto the grey vest I'd made earlier, after which I started on a western inspired vest to go with the chaps. This cream white faux suede of mine is lovely to sew and I'm really quite pleased with how the western vest turned out. I still whipped up a pair of grey pants to go with the grey felt vest.
Fri 3/6
I had to take a break from the actual sewing to spare my neck and shoulders today, so I only did some sketching. To complete the western outfit combo for my human version Chad, I'll need a gun holster and I googled extensively different types of holsters and did some preliminary sketching.
I also designed a harness for a sword with a fur padded shoulder protection piece for my fantasy Chad's warrior look. I studied some historical leather armours as well, but they may be a bit difficult to pull off with the materials I've got at the moment. I found some highly inspiring mediaval styles though and I'd love to try something like that for my warrior boy. I'm going to shopping to the nearest big city tomorrow and I'll see if I can find some buckles and loops, and other stuff that might come in handy in this project.
